Aaron Currie says his heart 鈥渟kipped a beat鈥 when he found out he was the lucky recipient of a Sobey鈥疦ational Innovators鈥疭cholarship. 鈥淕rowing up, I was always told by my parents and educators that my hard work would one day pay off鈥痆and]鈥痺ould ultimately lead to a better future.鈥疘 am incredibly honoured to become a member of the very first cohort of Sobey Innovators and look forward to upholding the legacy of the Sobey family throughout my post-secondary journey and beyond.鈥濃
Aaron is鈥痺orking toward a Bachelor of Commerce with a specialization in鈥痜inance.鈥疕is dream鈥痡ob? CFO for an NHL team. In the meantime, he keeps busy volunteering in the community. During the lockdown, Aaron worked at his local No Frills,鈥痵tocking shelves to make sure people had what they needed. He鈥檚 fully prepared to make the transition to online classes. 鈥淭he pandemic has been a challenging time for us all. Luckily, as students our lives have been鈥痑ffected in a miniscule way compared to the lives of healthcare workers and other essential workers.鈥濃
